Created in 1968, it became the Argentine Section of the International Society for Contemporary Music (ISCM) in 1979.

 National Activities

• Annual Festivals (from 1968 on) presenting outstanding argentine and foreign composers,soloists and chamber groups during August and September each year.

• Interpretation and composition seminars. 

• Radio and television emisions. 

• Realization of the National Tribune of Composers(TRINAC) for the selections of argentine works to be presented before the International Jury of the World Music Days Festivals organized by the ISCM and the International Rostrum of Composers (CIM-UNESCO).

• Recording of works written by argentine composers in CD's. 

• Realization of the Tribune of Argentine Electroacustic Music (TRIME) for the selection of argentine works to be presented befor4e the International Tribune of Electroacustic Music (TIME-CIM-UNESCO).
